Zlatan Ibrahimovic is taking a wait-and-see approach when it comes to his future beyond his stay at Manchester United.

Reports earlier this month suggested the Swedish forward felt his impressive first season at Old Trafford should be rewarded with a two-year contract.

But now it appears a move back to Italy is a legitimate possibility after Ibrahimovic, 35, refused to rule out a future move to Serie A side Napoli.

"You never know, but I'm happy here," Ibrhaimovic told former manager Fabio Capello during a Sky Sports interview, as translated by Ben Gladwell of ESPNFC, set to air Friday. "Let's just wait and see what happens."

Although such a move might seem unusual considering most players his age and fame opt to extend their careers with a move oversees, his agent, Mino Raiola, has previously talked about Ibrahimovic's fondness for the Italian region.

"As for Ibrahimovic, he's always been in love with Naples and the passion of the Neopolitans and I've always said that openly because he grew up in a family which was to the Neapolitans and then with me,” Raiola said in February.

Earlier in his career, Ibrahimovic enjoyed success with Italian giants Juventus, AC Milan, and Inter - where he won a combined three Series A titles, including two with Juve that were revoked after the Calciopoli scandal - between stints at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Since joining United last summer, Ibrahimovic leads the English side with 15 Premier League goals.
