Dybala 'very close' to signing new Juventus contract

It's just a matter of time before Paulo Dybala puts pen to paper on an extension with Juventus.

The Argentine striker confirmed that a new agreement with the Bianconeri is nearly complete as he gets set to extend his stay in Turin beyond 2020 when his current deal is set to expire.

"We are very close to the renewal and there is very little missing," Dybala told Sky Italia.

"My agent will come to Italy to talk about the last things with (Juventus chief executive Giuseppe) Marotta, but the will is there on our part."

Confirmation of a new agreement should put an end to speculation over the promising young forward's future after attracting attention from Europe's elite.

In October, Dybala revealed that Juventus rejected a "big" offer from Barcelona when the Spanish giants attempted to bring him to the Camp Nou last summer. Juve's refusal was met with joy from Dybala, as he perceived the club's unwillingness to sell him as a sign of his importance to the team.

Since joining Juve from Palermo in a transfer worth €32 million in 2015, Dybala has played a prominent role in manager Massimiliano Allegri's attacking scheme after leading the club in scoring with 19 goals last season.

This term, however, Dybala has been limited to just five goals after being sidelined for almost two months with a thigh injury.

Now that he's back to full strength, Dybala will have a chance to add to his scoring tally when Juventus takes on his former club Palermo on Friday.
