Juventus sets Serie A record with 26th straight home win
Juventus is challenging every Serie A record - even its own.
By virtue of a 3-0 win over Bologna on Sunday, the five-time defending champion became the first Serie A side to earn 26 consecutive victories at home.
Juventus began the record-setting run with a 3-1 triumph against the same opposition on Oct. 4, 2015.
The Bianconeri surpassed their own benchmark, which they established between the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.
Gonzalo Higuain scored twice and Paulo Dybala converted a penalty to kick off 2017 on the right note.
Juventus ended an otherwise successful 2016 with a bitter shootout loss to AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana.
But its grip on the league is even tighter. With a game in hand, the Old Lady is four points ahead of nearest rival Roma.
