Roma ultras pack training session for derby sendoff
Rabid Roma supporters cracked flares, waved giant flags, and held up banners to stage an inspiring scene during the club's final training session before Sunday's derby against Lazio.
It's not the first time the team's ultras visited the players at Trigoria. Though the hardcore fans were in a celebratory mood this time, they've also lampooned and mocked their players in tougher times.
The whole team stopped to applaud those in attendance, showing how much the local rivalry means to everyone involved.
"We feel the Roman spirit every day, regardless of whether the fans come to the stadium," said manager Luciano Spalletti. "For us, the players and everyone who works here, it's a way of life, the way you greet people, the way you look at people, the way you meet and train."
Both Roma and Lazio enter the derby on a run of good form. Only one point separates the second-placed Giallorossi and fourth-placed Biancocelesti.
