Higuain named to Juventus' bench vs. Genoa after missing Sevilla clash

Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain appears to have overcome a thigh knock after being named to the bench ahead of Sunday's match against Genoa, the Serie A leaders announced.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri initially suggested the Argentine would start the clash, but appears to be taking a cautious approach with the €90-million forward.

Higuain sustained the thigh injury during Juve's victory against Pescara last weekend, forcing him to miss Tuesday's Champions League triumph over Sevilla.

As the club continues to wait on Paulo Dybala to recover from a thigh injury, Mario Mandzukic will be Juve's lone striker up front.

Since his summer transfer from Napoli, last season's top scorer in Serie A is off to another hot start after banging in seven goals in his first 13 games in a Juventus strip.
