Wanda Nara, the wife and agent of Inter hitman Mauro Icardi, claims her husband fielded interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain before signing an extension with the Nerazzurri earlier this week.

With Europe's top clubs circling above, Nara spent the summer weighing up Icardi's options and playing a game of politics with Inter director Piero Ausilio.

"I pointed out to (Ausilio) that there were many offers, so was Mauro meant to stay or go? He replied, 'Then show me these offers.' I was upset, as we had bought a house in Milan, and he's happy here," Nara told Sport Week in quotes translated by ESPN FC.

"Seeing as Ausilio wanted to see the offers, I brought him proposals from PSG, Napoli, and Juventus. There was also Tottenham, although they spoke directly with Piero.

"Mauro was on the verge of joining Real Madrid, and Juventus sought him until two minutes before they secured Gonzalo Higuain."

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, a noted Italian filmmaker, had even offered Nara a movie role as part of a prospective deal to land Icardi. As she is pregnant and the mother of four children, Nara turned it down.

Throughout the process, however, the Argentinian model contends Icardi knew nothing about the backroom talks.

The 23-year-old recommitted his future with Inter until 2021 on Friday to end speculation of a departure. He's currently tied for the lead in Serie A scoring with six goals in seven contests.

His release clause is said to be worth a stunning €110 million.
