Report: Barcelona unhappy with Santos over Gabigol transfer
Former Santos star Gabriel "Gabigol" Barbosa is now an Inter Milan player, and Barcelona is none too pleased with the Brazilian outfit over its dealings in the final few days of the transfer window, reports ESPN FC's Samuel Marsden.
Gabigol joined Inter with two days remaining in the summer transfer window for an initial €25-million fee. Barcelona reportedly paid Santos €7 million in 2013 during negotiations over Neymar for a priority right to three players, including Gabigol, requiring Santos to give Barcelona a chance to match a transfer offer within a certain amount of time before making a move.
However, after Gabigol's sale 48 hours before the close of the window, Barcelona club brass reportedly feel Santos violated those terms by failing to give the club enough time or critical information before completing a sale to Inter.
Reports in Catalonia indicate Barcelona will report Santos to FIFA over the deal, though the club has yet to publicly announce or confirm any such action.
