Juventus is looking for midfield options in an effort to replace the massive hole left by the departure of Paul Pogba, and Belgium's Axel Witsel might very well be that midfielder, reports The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.

The Turin giant has reportedly agreed to an €18-million deal plus add-ons with Zenit St. Petersburg, and Witsel will apparently fly to Italy to undergo a medical Wednesday.

The 27-year-old has been a mainstay in the Zenit lineup for a number of seasons since joining the club in 2012. He made 29 appearances in league play last season, scoring three goals and recording one assist. In total, Witsel has made 125 appearances for the Russian outfit, scoring 15 goals.

The versatile attacking midfielder has 71 national team appearances since 2008 and seven international goals to his name as well.

Juventus is also looking to add Juan Cuadrado to its ranks, according to Romano. The Italian champion's already spent considerable funds on the acquisition of Gonzalo Higuain earlier in the transfer window.
