Wojciech Szczesny will spend another year in the Italian capital.

Roma announced Thursday that an agreement has been brokered with Arsenal that will see the shot-stopper remain at the Stadio Olimpico on loan until June 2017.

"I'm very happy," said the Polish 'keeper, who made 42 appearances for Roma last season. "After a good season last year I had possibility of coming back and I was very happy that the coach wanted me. I'm delighted to be back and I hope that we can improve on what we did last season."

The incumbent starter between the sticks for the Giallorossi, Szczesny will now face stern competition from Brazilian Alisson, the 23-year-old who joined the club from Internacional in July for €8 million.

As for Arsenal, meanwhile, Thursday's move should end any speculation over the future of David Ospina. The Colombian, who will once again play second fiddle to Petr Cech, had been linked with a move to Besiktas.
