Roma signs Juan Jesus on season-long loan with €8M purchase clause
AS Roma announced Thursday the club has signed Inter Milan defender Juan Jesus on a one-year loan deal, bringing on the Brazilian for an initial €2-million fee that also includes an additional compulsory €8-million purchase clause by June 30, 2017.
"I'm really happy to have joined such a great club and I can't wait to get started," Jesus told Roma TV, as quoted by the club's official website. "I can promise the fans that I'll always give my all and never stop running for Roma."
The 25-year-old joined Inter in 2012 and has since made 110 appearances in Serie A as well as 20 Europa League appearances. He has scored just once during his time in Italy in Inter's 5-2 loss to Udinese in 2013.
Used both as a central defender and as a left full-back at Inter, Jesus joins a Roma team looking for depth in the latter position as Lucas Digne, who was on loan in the Italian capital last season, completed a move to Barcelona.
