Zidane plays coy over Pogba link

Zinedine Zidane has given a hint that Real Madrid may make an approach for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

The French manager was non-committal when asked of rumours that Los Blancos could make a lucrative move for his compatriot, although reports Saturday suggested it would face competition from Jose Mourinho's Manchester United.

"At this very moment none, but within a few weeks you'll know," said Zidane, as reported by Agustín Martín from AS, when asked if there was a specific Italy-based player he was in talks with.

A departure which could pave the way for Pogba's transfer is that of James Rodriguez. The Colombian failed to impose himself on Zidane's XI last season, and he's due to have a meeting with his boss when he makes a delayed return to preseason training due to his participation in the Copa America Centenario.
