Dybala: Ronaldo and Messi wouldn't score as many goals in Serie A

Juventus ace Paulo Dybala believes some of La Liga's biggest stars would find Italian football a lot more difficult to adapt to, saying that Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo wouldn't be able to score as many goals as they do if they were playing in Serie A.

The 22-year-old Argentine attacker joined Juventus this season, netting 16 goals as the Old Lady steamrolled to a fifth consecutive Scudetto crown. Having played against all kinds of opposition sides en route to the title, Dybala says the difference in quality is seen from the middle-table downward.

"I will say that in Italy there is much better defending and it's a tactical type of football," Dybala told Tuttosport, as quoted by Marca. "The little clubs do not play in a wild and careless way as they do in Spain, although Atletico Madrid are changing this mentality.

"Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo would not have scored 80-90 goals in Italy, perhaps 30 like (Napoli striker Gonzalo) Higuain, but not 80."

Dybala has kept an eye on La Liga's goal-scoring heroes while Messi and Ronaldo trade jabs at the top of the charts, affirmed that the iconic players in Spain serve as motivation for his own career, too.

"I don't know if I'll become like Messi, but my objective is to win the Ballon d'Or," Dybala concluded.
