Mauro Icardi is showing why he's captain of Inter.

After struggling just to keep a spot in the Nerazzuri's starting XI, the Argentine has emerged as their best scorer. He once again hit the back of the net in a 2-0 win over Scudetto hopeful Napoli on Saturday - even if there were claims of offside.

It's his 15th goal of the season - his third in three games - breaking a tie with Juventus forward Paulo Dybala and AC Milan hit man Carlos Bacca for second in the scoring race. Gonzalo Higuain - who served the second match of his three-game ban Saturday - is still way ahead of the pack with 30 goals.

Napoli could've used another at San Siro.

Instead, Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic added a second goal to secure the victory, which propels Inter to within three points of third-placed Roma. The fight for the third and final Champions League spot is now alive, but the Giallorossi have a chance to restore the gap to six points with a win over Atalanta on Sunday afternoon.

Napoli, meanwhile, will wait to see if Juventus can extend its lead to nine points with a result against relegation battler Palermo later in the day.
