Juve's Pepe suffers injury setback
Turin, Italy (Sports Network) - Juventus midfielder Simone Pepe has suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury and is likely to miss an extended period of time.
The 29-year-old missed the beginning of the season because of a thigh problem and had only returned recently to make a 20-minute substitute appearance against Lazio last month.
But following that appearance, which is the only one of the season for Pepe, the Italy international once again tore his left thigh muscle.
"Pepe will have to be out of action for a long time yet," read a statement from Juventus.
"Over the last few days, the player suffered a new muscular problem at the semi-membrane level of the left thigh.
"To avoid further setbacks, he will have a period of complete rest and treatment, so will only return when his condition is completely healed."
