Di Carlo sacked by Chievo
Verona, Italy (Sports Network) - Chievo has confirmed that the club has fired manager Domenico Di Carlo only six games into the Serie A season.
The club has lost five of its first six league contests, with the latest setback coming this past weekend in a 4-1 defeat at Palermo.
Di Carlo guided the team to a 10th-place finish in Serie A last term, but he will be replaced by Eugenio Corini after the poor start this season.
A statement from Chievo read: "The club offer our heartfelt gratitude to the coach and his staff, not only for the excellent results achieved during his three seasons at Chievo, but especially for their commitment, professionalism and dedication."
Corini will be taking over his first managerial role in the top flight after coaching at Crotone and Frosinone in the lower divisions.
His first game in charge of Chievo will come at home on Saturday against Sampdoria.
