NEWCASTLE, Northern Ireland - Scotland's Richie Ramsay and Austria's Bernd Wiesberger were part of a group of five to share the second-round lead Friday at the Irish Open, while Rory McIlroy failed to make the cut for the second straight week.

Ramsay was on target to match the club record of 66 at Royal County Down but narrowly bogeyed his final hole to finish 4 under for the day, and 3 under overall, just like Wiesberger. Chris Wood, Tyrrell Hatton, and Soren Kjeldsen were also tied for the lead while Ireland's Padraig Harrington was one shot back.

McIlroy, whose Rory Foundation charity is hosting the Irish Open, was unable to rebound from Thursday's disastrous 9-over 80, shooting an even par 71 Friday to finish at 9-over.

It marks the second week in a row that McIlroy missed the cut, after failing to advance past the first two days at the BMW Championship.

Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer and Nicolas Colsaerts were among the other notables to miss the cut. Rickie Fowler sits three shots off the pace in a tie for 11th.
