Team Europe won its third straight Ryder Cup after Jamie Donaldson's 4-up dormie, securing the half point Europe needed to win. Keegan Bradley conceded Donaldson's putt on No. 15 giving the win to Europe, 14 1/2 to 9 1/2.

After Justin Rose's fourth win, his halve against Hunter Mahan brought Europe within half a point of retaining the Cup.

Rory McIlroy's 5 & 4 win over Rickie Fowler kicked things off, while Graeme McDowell (2 & 1), Martin Kaymer (4 & 2) and Justin Rose (halved) followed. The tournament got away from the U.S. fast as they needed eight and a half points to win the Cup after Saturday's foursome matches.

Undefeated rookie Patrick Reed gave the U.S. their first full point as Europe was two away from the win. Matt Kuchar and Phil Mickelson also came away with wins.

The last man on the field, Victor Dubuisson, closed out Sunday's matches delivering the final half-point to Europe for an official 16 1/2 to 11 1/2 win over the U.S.

Donaldson, the 38-year-old rookie, played hero.
