VIDEO: McIlroy 4-putts No. 12 for 1st triple-bogey of 2014

Ron Chenoy / USA TODAY Sports

During the third round of the BMW Championship at Cherry Hills in Denver, Col. Rory McIlroy got himself into some trouble with a four-putt during what turned out to be an ugly round.

His 2-over 72 was his worst round of golf since the first round of The Barclays. Before that, you'd have to stroll over to Sunday at the U.S. Open to find anything higher than a 71.

McIlroy, who won two majors and a PGA Tour event in the span of 21 days, hasn't triple-bogeyed a hole since Dec. 2013 in the second round at the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge.

Yes. Definitely get rid of that ball, Rory.
