Hughes wraps up Hawaiian swing with final-round 68
Mackenzie Hughes finished his two-week stay in Hawaii with a 2-under-par round of 68 Sunday at the Sony Open.
The 26-year-old Canadian, parred eight straight holes to begin his round. On the par-5 ninth, Hughes hit his second shot onto the green and two-putted for his first birdie of the day.
The Dundas, Ontario native parred the first two holes on the back nine, then hit an 88-yard approach shot to 5 feet on No. 12, leading to another birdie. Hughes would give it back with a bogey at the 14th when he couldn't advance his second onto the green for the left rough.
Hughes would make a 17-footer for birdie at the 16th and then par in the last two holes to record his fifth straight round in the 60s.

Hughes won't play next week at the CareerBuilder Challenge in La Quinta, Calif., but is committed to play five straight events, starting with the Farmers Insurance Open at the end of January.
