Tiger Woods has begun his descent down the world rankings.

The former world No. 1 went into last week's Hero World Challenge ranked 848th on the planet, and leaped almost 250 spots to 650 on Monday. It's a start.

Woods finished 4-under in Nassau last week, in his first tournament action since August 2015. He carded 24 birdies, most in the field, but also led in the double-bogey department, with six.

Most importantly, though, he was able to play five rounds (including Wednesday's pro-am), walking the course without a golf cart each day, his back holding up strong.

There's no word on Woods' schedule for 2017, but he appears healthy heading into the new year, and that's all that matters.
