Mackenzie Hughes finishes tied for 13th in 1st PGA Tour tournament

Mackenzie Hughes impressed in his first tournament on the PGA Tour.

The Canadian and theScore-sponsored golfer finished tied for 13th at the Safeway Open, playing consistent golf on what was undoubtedly a pressure-packed stage for the 25-year-old.

Hughes saved his best round for last, firing a 4-under 68 on Sunday and finishing 13 under par for the tournament - one stroke behind tour veteran Phil Mickelson, who Hughes played his final round with.

Recently graduating from the Web.com Tour, Hughes will earn $120,000 for his stellar play over the last four days.

After carding three bogeys on the first seven holes Sunday, Hughes recovered, finishing with seven birdies on his final 11 holes.
