Sweden's women's soccer team has performed well on the field at Rio 2016, knocking off the powerful U.S. team and the host Brazilians on their way to the gold-medal game, but that's nothing compared to the straight fire coming from coach Pia Sundhage.

After U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo called the Swedes "cowards" following their quarterfinal loss, Sundhage responded with "I'm going to Rio, she's going home." The 56-year-old was at it again after knocking off Brazil earlier in the week when asked if she could coach a men's team.

"Well, Angela Merkel runs a whole fucking country," Sundhage retorted to reporters, referencing the German chancellor.

Merkel has served in her post since 2005, and ironically it's her home country that stands in Sweden's way of a gold medal Friday afternoon. The Germans enter the match heavily favored, but as Sundhage's unit has shown throughout Rio 2016, they are more than capable of pulling off an upset.
