Report: Brazil to summon Lochte to testify

Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY Sports

The Ryan Lochte saga continues.

The U.S. swimmer has been summoned by Brazil's Justice Department to testify over his claims he was robbed at gunpoint during the Rio Olympics, according to Fox News.

He will not face a penalty if he doesn't attend, Fox adds.

Lochte became the central figure of the Rio Olympics for all the wrong reasons, after he claimed that he and three of his teammates were robbed at a Rio gas station after a night of partying.

The 32-year-old apologized for his actions, and for the way he described the events of the night in question, but maintains a gun was pointed at him by a stranger and that he was ordered to hand over money in order to leave the scene.

The fallout from the incident cost Lochte all his endorsement deals.
