Lochte dumped by Speedo, other sponsors

There are, in fact, very real consequences for vandalizing a gas station restroom in Brazil, cooking up a story in a feeble attempt to save face, misleading authorities in a foreign country before fleeing, and embarrassing any and all involved.

Speedo announced Monday that Ryan Lochte has been dropped from his sponsorship agreement with the swimsuit manufacturer.

"While we have enjoyed a winning relationship with Ryan for over a decade and he has been an important member of the Speedo team, we cannot condone the behavior that is counter to the values this brand has long stood for," Speedo said in a statement.

The company will donate $50,000 of Lochte's fee to Save the Children.

Following suit, Ralph Lauren, which outfitted the American team in Rio, announced it will not renew its partnership with the embattled swimmer, while Gentle Hair Removal and Airweave also dropped Lochte on Monday.
