Simone Biles' quest for a golden quintet slipped away Monday at Rio 2016.
The U.S. gymnast nearly fell during her routine and finished third with a score of 14.733. Sanne Wevers of the Netherlands won gold with a score of 15.466, and American Lauren Hernandez claimed the silver with a 15.333.
Biles dominated the field in the vault competition Sunday to win her third gold of Rio 2016, becoming the first U.S. woman to win three gymnastics gold medals in a single Olympics.
The 19-year-old will still have a shot at a fourth when she competes in the floor exercise Tuesday.
