Kyrie plans to throw championship jabs at Warriors teammates in Rio

Fresh off winning the NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving is gearing up for the Olympics. He's the only Cavs representative on Team USA's roster after teammate LeBron James passed up the opportunity.

Instead, joining Irving on the U.S. men's national team are some familiar foes from the past two NBA Finals in Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Harrison Barnes of the Golden State Warriors.

The Cavaliers guard expects his interactions with the Warriors trio to be different than they were earlier this month - to an extent.

"There's a connection that we all share that's bonded for life of USA Basketball that allows us to be comfortable and being with one another," Irving said on ESPN's "Mike & Mike" show.

"But, you know, there will be a few jabs thrown ... because there are three Warriors on this team, and I am the current champion, so I will be throwing it in their faces."

Irving torched Golden State with 27.1 points on 46.8 percent shooting from the field and 40.5 percent from deep. He also recorded 3.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game.
