Lehner (ankle) will miss the rest of the 2015-16 season after undergoing surgery Wednesday.

Analysis:

Though the Sabres are already eliminated from playoff contention and won't feel the effects of this loss, Lehner's fantasy owners will be hurting after the 24-year-old goaltender's strong performances this season. Lehner was acquired to be the team's bona fide No. 1 goaltender, and he has been just that. Though he was limited to just 21 games due to injury, Lehner posted a 2.47 GAA and .924 save percentage while playing for one of the league's weakest teams. Chad Johnson will start the majority of the games down the stretch, with the possibility of third-string Jason Kasdorf and minor league goalies Nathan Lieuwen, Linus Ullmark and Andrey Makarov potentially making appearances.
