Faulk (lower body) has not practiced since Feb. 24 and is considered week-to-week, Michael Smith of NHL.com reports. "He's rehabbing and getting closer," coach Bill Peters said recently. "He's done a real good job working hard on other things that he can do: upper body and cardio. He's going to do everything he can to get back and be ready to play."
Analysis:
Faulk missed an initial six games in late February with the injury, and attempted a return to the lineup Feb. 23 against the Flyers, which did not go well, as he saw ice time of only 16:51 in that contest. He practiced the next day, but "hasn't felt quite right since," according to Smith. At this point, it does not look like a return to the lineup is imminent for Faulk. He would presumably require at least a day or two of full practice before he could be considered game-ready, so that leaves him questionable at best for the Canes' remaining games this week, starting with Tuesday night against the Capitals.
