Carey Price: Believes he'll be back this season

Price (leg) indicated Thursday that he intends to return yet this season, John Shannon of Sportsnet reports.

Analysis:

Price left things pretty vague when describing his situation, and didn't really offer up a timetable beyond "as soon as possible". It's possible he'll make a return to get some prep work in for the World Cup of Hockey, but it wouldn't do much for the Canadiens chances of making the playoffs (currently six points back of a wild card spot, Penguins have two games in hand). TVA Sports' Renaud Lavoie reported Thursday that he's begun taking shots, but expect the team or Price himself to further update his status as the star netminder progresses. However, there's still no guarantee he will see time in the crease again this season.
