Ryan Miller will protect the net Thursday against the Ducks

Miller will protect the net Thursday against the Ducks, the Vancouver Sun reports.

Analysis:

After allowing three goals on 36 shots in a 5-2 loss to the Maple Leafs last Saturday, the team gave him a night off in favor of Jacob Markstrom. The veteran will return between the pipes Thursday at the home rink to face a Ducks club that's won nine of the last 11 games. It may be best to avoid using him in daily lineups, but Miller does play better at home (2.31 GAA, .922 save percentage) than on the road if interested in a chancy play with upside.
