Blackhawks' Hossa out a 'couple weeks maybe'

Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville knows how to serve up an injury update.

Forward Marian Hossa, on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, will be out a "couple weeks maybe," Quenneville said on local Chicago radio Monday morning. He added that the injury "is not serious, and that was the most important thing," according to CSN Chicago's Tracey Myers.

Hossa has 10 goals and 18 assists in 54 games, averaging 17:24 in ice time. He turned 37 last month, and it's showing. His 0.52 points per game average is his lowest since his first full season in the NHL, way back in 1998-99, when he was only 20 and finished second in Calder Trophy voting.

Hossa needs only four goals to hit 500 for his career.
