Drawing into one contest earlier in the campaign, Koekkoek saw just 10:21 of ice time with the Lightning, resulting in a minus-1 rating, a hit and a blocked shot. A first-round pick in 2012, the 21-year-old blueliner showed his offensive prowess with OHL Windsor in 2013-14, racking up 53 points in 62 games. While his offensive numbers haven't been as impressive since moving up from juniors to the AHL, ranking third among the Syracuse affiliate's defensemen in points this season, his skill set must intrigue the Lightning enough to give him a shot with the parent club. Koekkoek's first chance to draw into the lineup comes Friday against the Predators.
