Red Wings' Abdelkader will not face hearing for hit on Panthers' Barkov

Detroit Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader will not face a hearing from the NHL's Department of Player Safety after a hit on Aleksander Barkov of the Florida Panthers.

No penalty was called on the play, while Barkov was forced to leave the game and will miss at least the team's next contest, although it doesn't appear as though he's been seriously injured.
