Wayne Simmonds: Avoids Suspension
Simmonds has avoided supplemental discipline from the league after receiving a match penalty Saturday, and will be in the lineup Sunday to take on Washington, Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post reports.
Analysis:
Simmonds won't have his match penalty rescinded, leaving him with two for the year, meaning his next game misconduct will carry an automatic one-game suspension. Since being moved to the top line with Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek, Simmer has six goals and eight points in his last five games. Don't expect Simmonds' close brush with supplemental discipline to keep him from being a physical factor in Sunday's game.
