Reports of Sidney Crosby's demise were greatly exaggerated.
The Pittsburgh Penguins captain kept his torrid scoring streak alive Friday night, burying a pass from Chris Kunitz to cut into the Tampa Bay Lightning's lead in the second period.
It was Crosby's fifth straight game with a goal and ninth consecutive contest with a point. It was also his seventh goal in the last five games.
He now has nine goals and six assists in his last nine contests. Overall, he's racked up 21 goals and 25 assists in 49 contests this season.
Crosby notched a hat trick and four points in a win over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.
