Dan Hamhuis: Will return to lineup Saturday

Hamhuis (face) will return to action Saturday night against the Flames, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.

Based on this report, it appears that Hamhuis is on the verge of being removed from injured reserve. Hamhuis took a slap shot to the face in a game against the Rangers on Dec. 12 and sustained a facial fracture. The scary incident caused the defenseman to miss 21 games. Hamhuis is an 11-year veteran with hockey smarts but he isn't a logical choice in the numbers-hungry world of fantasy hockey. He's averaging 1.26 hits per game this season but four assists represent his only points in 27 games.
