The Pittsburgh Penguins have just been dealt a massive blow ahead of a pair of important games against Eastern Conference opponents.

Evgeni Malkin will miss the next two games due to a "nagging" lower-body injury, head coach Mike Sullivan announced Thursday. He'll remain in Pittsburgh to rehab throughout the weekend.

The Penguins will play the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday, before taking on the Atlantic Division-leading Florida Panthers on Saturday.

The 29-year-old All-Star leads the team with 23 goals and 49 points in 49 games this season, undoubtedly creating a big hole in the lineup.
