Jimmy Howard will tend the twine on Thursday against the Panthers

Howard will tend the twine on Thursday against the Panthers, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Analysis:

Howard has been absolutely terrible in his last seven starts, as he's posted a 0-3-3 record as well as getting pulled on Dec. 22. During this losing streak, the 31-year-old registered a 3.72 GAA and .892 save percentage. With numbers like that, it should come as no surprise that the two goalie experiment has ended in Detroit and Petr Mrazek has taken over the starting role full time.
