Malcolm Subban was called up by the Bruins
Subban was called up by the Bruins, Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis:
Subban will take over the backup job from the injured Jonas Gustavsson (illness) who was placed on injured reserve. The 22-year-old saw the ice in just one game last season, but could be in line for significantly more ice time given the uncertainty around Gustavsson's condition. If his AHL performance is any indication, the netminder should be a serviceable fill in, having won 13 of 25 starts with Providence.
