It turns out John Scott wasn't the only player who received an apology from Jeremy Roenick on Sunday.

The NHL legend and NBC analyst apologized to Buffalo Sabres forward Ryan O'Reilly prior to the All-Star game for comments he made regarding the seven-year, $52.5-million extension O'Reilly signed in the offseason.

"He just said he had never really saw me play before until this year," O'Reilly said, according to Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News. "I didn't even know what he had said but he just said, 'I feel bad. I've seen you more, what you can do and I'm very impressed and sorry for saying that.'"

Playing for the Atlantic Division team in Sunday's three-on-three tournament, O'Reilly picked up an assist on an Aaron Ekblad goal in a semifinal win. The Atlantic then lost to the Scott-led Pacific Division team, 1-0. O'Reilly admitted he enjoyed the low-scoring final.

"It was 0-0 there and I was looking up thinking, 'What's going on? How is there not one goal?'" he said. "Guys were checking tight, backchecking, clogging it up. It was a competitive game and fun. I'd rather do that than have it wide open."

O'Reilly leads the Sabres with 17 goals and 40 points this season.
