Sam Gagner's stint in the minors certainly didn't last very long.

The Philadelphia Flyers recalled Gagner from the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Thursday.

The move coincides with Sean Couturier's absence due to a lower-body injury. Gagner is expected to take Couturier's spot in the lineup against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Gagner recorded one goal and five assists in nine games with the Phantoms.

The 26-year-old hasn't played an NHL game since sustaining a concussion on Nov. 23. He's tallied two goals and three assists in 18 games with the Flyers this season.
