Tortorella sitting Hartnell, again

Aaron Doster / USA TODAY Sports

For the second time under John Tortorella, a healthy Scott Hartnell will watch the hijinks from above.

The Columbus Blue Jackets confirmed Tuesday that Hartnell will sit versus the Washington Capitals, this apparently in response to late-game tardiness when exiting the playing surface, which led to a too many men penalty.

Hartnell apologized to his teammates after practice Monday, but his regret was apparently not enough to save face with Tortorella.

He sat in December when a penalty versus the Montreal Canadiens wound up in a Blue Jackets loss.

Fedor Tyutin is also a healthy scratch.
