Robyn Regehr officially retires as a Flame
Robyn Regehr has officially called it quits right where it all began.
The veteran defenseman announced his retirement as a member of the Calgary Flames after signing a symbolic deal with the team on Monday.

"I always felt I was a Calgary Flame and when I look back on my career, it's the team I identify the most with," he said after putting on the jersey one last time.
"This means a tremendous amount. It's the best. It's hard to explain."
Drafted 19th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in 1998, Regehr made his NHL debut with Calgary - where he would stay for 11 years - during the 1999-2000 season.
Altogether, he appeared in 1,088 career games split between the Flames, Los Angeles Kings, and Buffalo Sabres, recording 36 goals, 163 assists, and 970 penalty minutes.
A member of the Kings' 2014 Stanley Cup-winning team, Regehr was a more instrumental member of the 2004 Flames club that pushed the Tampa Bay Lightning to seven games in the Final.
Regehr had announced his intention to retire at the end of last season.
