Carter remains out of Kings' lineup vs. Avalanche

Jeff Carter remains day to day.

The Los Angeles Kings forward traveled with his teammates to Denver, but didn't take part in line rushes Monday morning, and won't be in the lineup against the Colorado Avalanche.

Carter suffered an upper-body injury on Dec. 26, when he played only 48 seconds against the Arizona Coyotes. The Kings don't exactly miss him - they've won five in a row.

The center has 11 goals and 17 assists in 34 games, and with the Kings on a roll, there's no need to rush him back.

Los Angeles hosts the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, and it's possible Carter could be back that night.
