Ducks left looking for answers after pounding vs. Islanders

It was a familiar sight Monday as the Anaheim Ducks left the ice wondering, "What is happening?"

The club dropped their 15th game of the season to the New York Islanders in a 5-2 thrashing. The loss now sees them with a share of last place in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Once again, Anaheim's offense failed to give the team a boost. And like a broken record, head coach Bruce Boudreau was left trying to explain his team's horrific play.

"To end this, we need consistency," Bourdreau told reporters. "We play a good game, then a bad game. We're not forming good habits on a continual basis. We had a lot of errors, and when we have them, they end up in our net."

The forgettable season - which saw the club drop nine of their first 10 games and now four of their past seven - has the team looking at itself for answers.

"We have the guys in the room (to change this)," Carl Hagelin told reporters. "All 20 guys need to come ready to play."

Those 20 players will have the opportunity to do just that when they take to the ice Tuesday against the New York Rangers.
