Kelvin Kuo / USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Flyers recalled Andrew MacDonald from the American Hockey League on Monday, the club announced.

MacDonald will take over on the blue line for the injured Luke Schenn, who was lost to the club for two weeks over the weekend.

MacDonald, known for his $5-million cap hit, has a goal and 12 assists with Lehigh Valley in 23 games. He had two goals and 10 assists in 58 games with the Flyers last season.

The 29-year-old is signed through 2019-20.
