VIDEO: Malkin scores absurd NHL '94-style wraparound goal

Brad Penner / USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Penguins had a scare early in the second period Tuesday as play was stopped after Evgeni Malkin was butt-ended in the face by San Jose Sharks forward Joel Ward during a faceoff.

Bad idea, Joel.

Malkin wasted little time getting his revenge, speeding into the Sharks zone and potting a wraparound to give the Penguins a 3-0 lead.

The Russian now has five goals in a four-game scoring streak.

Malkin finished with a goal and two assists, and Phil Kessel with two goals, as the Penguins won 5-1. It was Pittsburgh's first win in San Jose in a whopping 18 years, ending a 12-game winless streak.
