The Rangers have reassigned Megna to AHL Hartford, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.

Analysis:

In the wake of a rib injury to Derek Stepan, Megna was brought up with the parent club ahead of Monday's game against the Hurricanes. However, he was not used in that contest, as the Blueshirts filled the middle of the fourth line with Jarret Stoll. The former Penguin could be back in the NHL if the injury bug ends up biting more of New York's forwards. He showcased his offensive potential last season with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, dialing in a plus 18 rating to accompany 26 goals and 13 assists in 63 games.
