Markus Hannikainen: Out two months

Hannikainen (shoulder) is expected to miss two months and was placed on injured reserve, Shawn Mitchell of The Columbus Dispatch reports.

Analysis:

It was an unfortunate start to Hannikainen's NHL career, as he suffered the injury in his debut with the Blue Jackets. The 22-year-old posted 11 points in 17 games with AHL Lake Erie before his recall, but he will now have to wait for another opportunity to notch his first NHL point. The two-month timetable would leave him with a late-January return date.
