Devils sign Kennedy to 1-year deal, place Tlusty on IR

The New Jersey Devils signed veteran forward Tyler Kennedy to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Friday.

The deal is worth $600,000 in the NHL and $200,000 in the AHL. After spending training camp with the Devils, Kennedy was signed to a second pro tryout on Nov. 18.

He told reporters he is ready to play in Friday's game against the Montreal Canadiens, and was seen skating with the team's fourth line during practice.

To make room for Kennedy on the roster, forward Jiri Tlusty was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder issue.
